Trajectory

Argentine-Dutch conductor Hernán Schvartzman is an award-winning and versatile orchestral and opera conductor, equally at home with top historically informed performance ensembles and cutting-edge contemporary music groups. He is known for leading international large-scale opera productions, symphonic concerts, and chamber projects with the same combination of stylistic insight, clarity, and expressive intensity.

Based in The Hague, he has conducted renowned ensembles such as the Netherlands Bach Society, ASKO|Schoenberg, Vox Luminis, the Dutch Radio Choir, and the Netherlands Chamber Orchestra. As musical leader of OPERA2DAY, Hernán has shaped some of the acclaimed Dutch opera productions of the past decade, including La Troupe d'Orphée (Opera of the Year 2014) and the world premiere of Tsoupaki's Mariken in the Garden of Delights. He unites precision, imagination, and emotional depth in performances that connect continents, styles, and centuries.
