MASTERCLASS IN ORCHESTRAL CONDUCTING TECHNIQUE AND STYLE
Led by Hernán Schvartzman

Based in the Netherlands, Hernán Schvartzman has devoted his career to orchestral preparation and conducting technique, as well as to research in what is now known as historically informed performance practice. He specialises in 19th-century stylistics.

This masterclass will address both theoretical and practical aspects of conducting technique. Using Georges Bizet's monumental opera Carmen as a point of departure, participants will explore the sound world of the period in which it was composed, working with a variety of reference materials and methods. The aim is to approach the Romantic repertoire from an innovative and historically grounded perspective.
